These are my initial routes to cover main SEA (IndoChina) overlands, except for Myanmar.
Why no Myanmar? Because of her war history. Because I have to apply visa to enter Myanmar.
These routes are:-
Malaysia - (flight to) Chiang Mai - Luang Prabang (via bus to Chiang Khong - long boat to Huay Xai - slow boat to Pak Beng. 3 days in total) - Dien Bien Phu (bus to Muang Khua via Oudemxai) - Sa Pa - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Halong Bay - Da Nang / Hue - Ho Chi Minh City - Phnom Penh - Siem Reap - Bangkok - Malaysia.
3 weeks definitely is not enough to cover all of the above particularly Vietnam, since it's too big.
